Te Hā Oranga have a kaupapa Māori AOD framework that focuses on healing and recovery for whanau through the enhancement of cultural identity and a sense of belonging. The framework sits across two umbrellas – He Waka Eke Noa Recovery™ and Te Ira Oranga™.
He Waka Eke Noa Recovery™ is our community based support services that provides counselling, peer support, a adult day programme, a rangatahi wellbeing programme and a Hapa Haka recovery roopu.
Te Ira Oranga™ is a new suite of intensive treatment programmes developed by Te Hā Oranga to support whanau in addressing recidivism and addiction through a tikunga lens.
Our framework has five overarching purposes:
To empower self-determination of whānau ora wellbeing.
To support participants to stay clean and sober.
To reduce harm and facilitate healing.
To contribute to reducing reoffending.
To enable integration into the community through healthy participation.
